At Bogairdy Farm in West Aberdeenshire free-range chickens, ducks, turkeys, geese, eggs and seasonal vegetables are produced for the discerning palate.
Our poultry are reared from day old chicks, some hatched on the farm. The birds all spend their days in outdoor houses scattered around sheltered paddocks allowing them to take full advantage of the land. They are given unlimited freedom to roam, exceeding by far the standards set by legislation. Although this level of care is more labour intensive than 'factory' reared birds and involves maintaining grasslands and growing cereals for feed and bedding, it guarantees a better tasting product. Our birds lead a stress free life which includes being processed on the farm, so avoiding transportation of live birds.
Scottish Fresh Foods are the only registered Scottish producer of 'Extra fresh' free-range eggs so we alone can guarantee that our eggs are under nine days old when they reach you the customer - In reality they are often much, much fresher than that!
Our products are available on the first Saturday of every month at the Huntly Farmers Market, can be pre-ordered for collection from the farm or delivered to your door in our own temperature controlled van.
Our sole aim is to maximise taste by producing fresh local produce.
